The word is derived from Mount Meru Mahameru. The mountain is regarded as a residence or a throne for the Tri Murti, namely Sang Hyang Vishnu, Sang Hyang Brahma, and Sang Hyang Siwa. Tri Murti is denoted as the source of all life, the source of prosperity, and all sources of happiness of life in the world.
